The David Prince Chronicles

my dad has always been a huge music nerd. way back before i was born he lived in boston and, through the local paper he worked for, got to photograph and meet lots of the heavy hitter rock dads of the era- the boss, neil, van, little feat, ect.

anyway, along with the hundreds of photographs, he also has a plethora of stories to go with them. for instance : introducing the boss (pictured below) to the man who is now his manager, as well as being played born to run acoustically backstage at a show before the song was ever released.

my love for and interest in these stories and memories of his has lead me to, thirty some odd-years later, begin nagging him to let me scan his old negatives and do the editing work for him while he begins to put these stories of his on paper.

my dad is also quite sick - can't leave the house really at all - so he's got the time - and i want these images and stories to live forever. so i hope to in the coming years put out a book of the images and his writings.

here's a sneak peek.
the first image below is my dad. the second is bruce. (duh)

Below are a few images from a project I am slowly embarking on. Inspired by Phillip Toledano's amazingly touching work "Days with my Father" (dayswithmyfather.com), I am photographing my 65 year old father who has pulmonary lung disease. I am also photographing in and around the house I grew up in, which my mother now lives in alone. All in the hopes of rekindling and coming to terms with lost memories.

No One Is Home
